Oxana Yablonskaya
Oxana Yablonskaya’s charismatic piano playing and profound interpretations have brought her acclaim for over thirty years.
Born in Russia, Yablonskaya is now resident in the United States, where she has become one of the leading concert pianists, and one of the most celebrated teachers of the new generation of great pianists. After studies at the Conservatory of Moscow, Yablonskaya was introduced to the Western World as an young artist in Paris, winning prizes in both the Jacques Long-Thibaud Competition in 1963, the Rio de Janeiro Competition in 1965, and the Vienna Beethoven Competition in 1969.
Once considered the best kept secret of the Soviet Union, Yablonskaya has now performed in more than forty countries with many of the finest symphony orchestras and conductors. Yablonskaya has held a faculty position at The Juilliard School for many years. She also travels widely giving master classes at the most distinguished conservatories throughout the world, and serves on the juries of numerous international piano competitions. In October 2008, Oxana Yablonskaya Piano Institute(OYPI) was opened in Castelnuove di Garfagnana in Tuscany, Spain.
