The Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen hosts the 15th annual International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition, with the final round being performed for the public at 'Grieghallen', accompanied by Edward Gardner and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.
An august jury and high-stakes prizes guarantee stiff competition and dazzling performances. This final concert consists of three piano concertos which are determined by the outcome of the first 3 rounds, as well as Olav Anton Thommessen’s Mikrofantasi, which is based on elements of the Grieg A minor concerto.
The finalists are:
Ah Ruem Ahn - Robert Schumann: Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54
Ben Cruchley - Robert Schumann: Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54
Zhenni Li: Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major, Op. 58
